We will study how an autonomous agent maintains a consistent and up to date view of its external world given some background knowledge about the world that describes how this can change and a partial sequence of events and observations in the world. Our study will be based on the theory of Action Theories and how these provide a framework for Reasoning about Change in the world. In particular we will follow an argumentation based approach for Action Theories that also include default information on the possible states of the world.

The study will be motivated and applied for the problem of maintaining by an agent the profile of other agents in its environment. The profile may also include a level of trust for each of the other agents. Keeping a good profile and adapting this as new information is acquired will be important for the agents decisions during negotiation or other forms of interaction with the other agents.
